Award Worker Course

All workers that will be working with young people on their Youth Challenges and Youth Achievement Awards must undertake our Award Worker Training Course(formerly know as Initial Training).

This course is unaccredited, but provides your workers with the knowledge they need in order to deliver the awards and help young people produce work of the required standard and quality.

External Moderation Meeting

External Moderation Meeting will require those present to look at portfolios created by young people from organisations other than their own. Those present work in small groups and complete a ‘Verification Meeting Feedback Form’ for each organisations’ portfolios they look at.

Portfolios from an organisation are passed or deferred on an all or nothing basis.

The moderation day is also another opportunity to complete any details originally left off the External Moderation Form.

Agency Moderation Course

An Agency Moderator acts as an internal verifier and will be required to check an organisation’s portfolios before they are submitted for external moderation. An Agency Moderator can also directly sign off Youth Challenges, which do not need to be externally checked.

YAA Evening Refresher Course

Our members have requested an Evening Session for Award Workers
The YAA has recently been updated and changes made to the format to make the award even more accessible to young people and the youth groups working with them. This session is an opportunity for existing award workers to update themselves on the changes and receive the new resources.
