The Big Music Project!

Volunteering and performing opportunity for young people!
Help make their CV’s explode with amazing experience!

Youth Cymru would like to invite you to The Big Music Project, offering young people an amazing volunteering and performing opportunity.

The Big Music Project is funded by the Big Lottery and is in its second year. In 2014/15 The Big Music Project was a huge success across the UK with thousands of young people taking part and the biggest names in the music industry, with the likes on Plan B, Ellie Goulding, Union J and Chase & Status.

The aim of the project is to help young people “get their foot in the door” of the music industry. The most important part of this project is that you don’t need to be able to sing/ play an instrument or even dance; all you need is passion and determination to reach your goal. The Big Music Project gives young people advice on everything, from hair and make up to stage lighting to becoming a band manger. Maybe we will find a Welsh Louis Walsh?

We would like to invite young people from all over Wales to attend the event FREE, on Saturday 27th February 2016 at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay. They will have the chance to talk to people already in the music industry, take part in workshops around planning festivals, learning to DJ and recording your own sound. There will be performances from young people across Wales on the community stage and young people will have the opportunity to ask questions to specialist from Global, BPI and other big industry names during the Q&A sessions.

In addition, we have many volunteering and performing opportunities throughout the day. We are looking for volunteers to film, blog, report and photograph the day plus youth work experience available. They will receive 2 hours training from specialists such as Cardiff Radio before the event. Also, if any young people and interested in performing on the day then we can also accommodate this. Please contact Youth Cymru on 01443 82840 or email for more information and application forms or Click here to apply

This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to enhance their CV’s and to give them a glimpse of how they could achieve their dreams in the music industry.

Last year over 1000 young people came to the event and it was a massive success. Please forward this email onto teachers and young people at your school/college for this fantastic career advice opportunity.

We look forward to hearing from you,
