The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 introduces wide-ranging reforms that have major implications for the learning and development needs of the sector workforce. In advance of the Act coming into effect on 6 April 2016, the Care Council for Wales has developed an evolving national learning and development plan to support its implementation. As part of this plan they developed a training framework supported by key train the trainer events for selected trainers from across Wales to enable them to deliver training pertinent to the learning need of practitioners impacted by the Act. Youth Cymru is pleased to be part of this framework and able to offer this vital training to its members.
We offering this bespoke training to our members to provide them with an introduction to the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and to allow participants to begin to explore the short and long term implications for their organisation.
As well as raising awareness of the acts by providing an overview of its parts and features the training will being to develop an appreciations of key differences in the future emphasis of care and support, as well as helping to identify possible changes to practice and any additional training that might be needed.
