As more young people are experiencing mental ill health it is essential that we provide an environment where it is safe to talk about mental health and to understand how early intervention can help with recovery. This course will give you the skills, confidence and knowledge to support a young person who is experiencing mental health issues.

Taking part in an MHFA (Wales) course:
Raises awareness and mental health literacy
Reduces stigma around mental ill health
Boosts knowledge and confidence in dealing with mental health issues
Promotes early intervention which enables recovery
By the end of the course you will have:
An in depth understanding of young people's mental health
Confidence to provide an initial intervention
Tools to promote help seeking behaviour
Ability to help a young person thrive
Knowledge to reduce stigma
Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing.
Participants will explore normal and problematic behaviours with a view to developing their insight, understanding and awareness, enabling an effective response within a safeguarding framework.
