This course outlines knowledge and skills relating to understanding how youth work can support young people with their mental health and wellbeing. Learners must have access to a real work environment.

  • Know about the statutory and legal frameworks in relation to young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Tutor - Dan Townsend

Hi, I am Dan Townsend, the Youth Work Manager for Youth Cymru, I support youth workers, young people, and organisations to develop and manage projects.

I have qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma in Youth and Community Work and currently studying a master’s degree at Cardiff Met.  I focus on young people leading, engaging, and challenging the status quo, while providing young people and youth organisations an opportunity to develop and grow.  I play musical instruments, ride a motorcycle and an avid photographer, I spend my life with my family and children.

Cost, assessment and accreditation

The cost of this course is £150 per participant, that will also include the accreditation.

The accreditation will require a written/typed assignment that will be sent electronically after each session. Distance tutor support is provided to allow for successful completion.
