Young People's Participation

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is an international human rights treaty that grants all children and young people a comprehensive set of rights.

Young people’s participation is expressed through Article 12 of the UNCRC stating that children and young people are at the heart of all decision-making that affects them.

The YPP qualifications equip young people with the knowledge and skills that they need to become effective decision-makers and change the world around them for the better. This includes learning how to engage with their peers and adults and communicate effectively with the media to illicit social change.

The qualifications can be used to support young people in a variety of settings including school councils and youth forums.

We worked in partnership with the Welsh Government and specialists to develop these qualifications and accredited opportunities to support young people’s participation.

Within the YPP Qualification you are able to choose from a variety of subjects that meets the learners needs. These units are available from Entry Level 1 to Level 2..
