Julia is an experienced leader, educator, and mentor with a strong background in youth justice, criminology, health, and social care. She began her career as a lecturer in youth justice before moving into roles supporting young people through mentoring, coaching, and restorative justice. At Cardiff Youth Offending Service, she managed a large mentoring scheme, coordinated volunteers, and developed training programs, including work with the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
With a PGC in Young People’s World Integrated Practice and Mentoring and Coaching Julia brings extensive expertise in leadership development, social services training, and online learning. She plays a key role in shaping and delivering impactful training services at Youth Cymru. Julia has worked with numerous organisations across Wales, running mentoring programs that supported over 100 volunteers and helped male offenders through restorative justice initiatives.
Currently serving as Joint CEO, Julia leads on funding, quality assurance, and training development, securing funding bids and managing accreditation programs. In addition to her role at Youth Cymru, she works in Higher Education as an Associate Lecturer for The Open University.
Passionate about lifelong learning and social impact, Julia continues to design and deliver training that empowers individuals and organisations within the youth sector.
Julia also serves as Youth Cymru’s creative force, bringing innovation and inspiration to our training delivery with her unique and imaginative approach. Outside of work, she enjoys creative projects, gardening, cycling, and spending time with her family and pets.
