Youth Allies for Inspiring Action
A cross-nations youth forum bringing young people together across borders. Youth Cymru is proud to be part of Youth Allies for Inspiring Action an exciting, ongoing project funded through the Shared Island Civic Fund and led by YouthAction Northern Ireland. We’re working alongside youth organisations from our cross-nations partnership to support young people to connect, collaborate and lead change.
What’s happening?
Right now, we’re part of a Cross Nations Youth Forum made up of young people aged 18–25. We meet online each month to discuss the big issues affecting young people across the UK and Ireland, including topics like identity, poverty, inclusion, peacebuilding, and the environment.
Each session is shaped by the young people themselves. It’s a powerful space for connection, conversation, and action.
We’re now getting ready for the forum’s in-person youth mobility and residential event this October 2025! The group will spend time together face-to-face to build on their online work and begin creating a shared Youth Strategy or Manifesto. Senior managers and CEOs from each organisation will also join the trip to listen, learn, and explore what cross-border youth collaboration can achieve.
Who’s involved?
Our brilliant representatives from Wales are already taking part; they’re passionate, active in their communities, and committed to making a difference. As the project continues, we’ll be sharing updates, stories, and what we’re learning along the way.

Youth Advisory Group (YAG)
We are proud to be part of Your Voice. The UK-Ireland Youth Advisory Group (YAG), a cross-national initiative empowering young people aged 16–24 to shape the future of youth work across the UK and Ireland.
Each partner organisation has nominated two young people and a staff member to participate in monthly online meetings to help design and guide the Youth Forum. The YAG provides a powerful platform for youth voice, strongly focusing on inclusion and representation of underheard communities.
