Turning the Tide / Troi’r Llanw
We are super excited to be apart of the Troi’r Llanw/Turning the Tide Programme along with industry leads across Wales. This project has received £1,499,800 over three years from The National Lottery Community Fund. Leading this project forward is the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) alongside Youth Cymru, Cwmpas, Mentrau Iaith Cymru, and Ethnic Minorities and Youth Support Team Wales (EYST).
This project, aims to normalise community-led climate work, ensure voices shape environmental decisions, and help people feel empowered in the face of the climate crisis.
The project aims to strengthen climate literacy and awareness, build capacity for action and support community-led projects while promoting a just and fair transition to a more sustainable future. By sharing stories of successful local action, and encouraging policy dialogue, it will work to ensure that community perspectives influence decision makers. The initiative aims to draw on the strengths and networks of its delivery partners to reach target communities and guide people from everyday conversations to sustained climate action and wider policy impact.
Troi’r Llanw / Turning the Tide Youth Advisory Forum
Youth Cymru is recruiting 8–12 young people aged 16–25 to join the Turning the Tide / Troi’r Llanw Youth Advisory Forum.
The Forum will support young people to shape the design, delivery and review of a Wales-wide climate action project, create youth-led content, influence project activity and feed young people’s insights into wider decision-making spaces.
Young people do not need previous climate experience. We welcome applications from young people who care about their community, youth voice, fairness, nature, creativity or social change.
Forum members will also be invited to take part in an October residential at the CAT Centre.
