David Baker

He / Him

Youth Worker

David has been an integral part of Youth Cymru since the spring of 2023, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a passion for empowering young people. With over 25 years of involvement in Scouting groups across England and Wales, he has dedicated himself to guiding and supporting youths in achieving their goals.

Upon relocating to Wales, David pursued a career in youth work, earning a degree in the field in 2020. He seized every opportunity to gain practical experience, participating in placements across various youth programs, including mainstream youth clubs, inclusion initiatives, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, road safety training, and involvement with The RAF.  As well as being qualified to degree level, David is also currently qualified to deliver and assess The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, deliver National Standard cycle training as well as  Agored Cymru and Youth Achievement Awards.

I currently deliver one-to-one mentoring projects for young people aged 11 to 16, in schools or in the community as well as mentoring and supporting young men on probation aged 18 to 25.
