Joint CEO

Julia is an experienced leader in youth justice, education, and social care. As Joint CEO of Youth Cymru, she leads funding, training, and quality assurance. Julia also lectures at The Open University, designing impactful programs that empower young people and professionals across Wales.

Melanie Ryan (She / Her)

Joint CEO

Melanie Ryan, Youth Cymru’s Joint CEO, leads with 13 years of experience, fostering youth work across Wales. With 30 years in the sector, she empowers young people, champions collaboration, and continues to develop leadership and opportunities in youth work.

Linda Pritchard (She / Her)

Office Manager

Linda joined Youth Cymru over 20 years ago as a part-time accounts clerk and has since progressed to Finance Manager. In addition to overseeing the organisation’s finances, she plays a key role in resource management, office operations, and Agored administration.

Shannon Lacey (She / Her)

Development Officer (North Wales)

Shannon Lacey, Youth Cymru’s North Wales Development Officer, joined in 2022 with expertise in project management, research, and strategic service delivery. With 4 years of youth work experience and a focus on youth empowerment, she drives positive change and resilience.

David Baker (He/Him)

Prevention & Intervention Youth Worker

David joined Youth Cymru in spring 2023, bringing over 25 years of experience in Scouting across England and Wales. He earned a degree in youth work in 2020 and has gained extensive hands-on experience in youth clubs, inclusion projects, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and more. David mentors young people aged 11–25 in schools and the community, supporting those on probation.

Bilingual Marketing and Communications Officer

Clara Edwards is a dynamic marketing professional with over 15 years of experience. She has worked across diverse industries, from global PR agencies to third-sector organisations, helping businesses craft and implement impactful marketing strategies that drive real results.

Kate Haywood

Freelance Trainer & Consultant 

Kate is a freelance trainer and consultant supporting charities in South Wales. Passionate about community development, she chairs Community House Newport and researches restorative practices in schools while advocating for social justice.
