Youth Cymru is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Youth Worker to join our team, supporting and empowering young people aged 11–25 across South Wales.
The Role at a Glance

Location: Hybrid – delivery across South Wales (with some national work)

Contract: 12-month fixed term (subject to funding)

Hours: 35 hours per week (including occasional evenings and weekends)

Salary: £28,000 FTE

Welsh Language: Desirable, but not essential
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll work directly with young people and partners to deliver meaningful, inclusive youth work. Your responsibilities will include:

Planning, delivering and evaluating engaging youth work sessions, workshops and events

Building positive, trusting relationships that support and challenge young people
-
Championing youth voice and co-production, shaped by young people’s lived experiences
-
Supporting young people’s personal, social and emotional development
-
Working in partnership with schools, community groups and key stakeholders
-
Completing project administration, monitoring, evaluation and case studies
-
Producing reports, communications and sharing impact stories
-
Creating and sharing engaging social media content that highlights young people’s achievements
-
Representing Youth Cymru at events, networks and partner meetings
-
Following safeguarding, health & safety, GDPR and risk assessment procedures

Promoting equality, inclusion and wellbeing across all aspects of delivery
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience working with young people aged 11–25 (paid or voluntary)

Is confident in facilitating sessions and quickly building rapport

Has a strong understanding of safeguarding, boundaries and safe practice

Is organised, able to plan sessions and work independently
-
Communicates clearly with young people, colleagues and partners
-
Is committed to equality, inclusion and amplifying youth voice
-
Can travel and work flexibly, including evenings and weekends

Holds a JNC Youth Work qualification
Bonus Points If You:

Speak Welsh
-
Have knowledge of statutory services, schools or community networks

Have experience of co-production or creative engagement methods
-
Have worked within the charity or third sector
