Youth Cymru is recruiting for an Intern to join our team in Upper Boat Business Centre, Treforest.

The Intern will provide support for the Youth Cymru team with events, projects and training to meet their project targets.

The Intern will promote Youth Cymru’s work nationally using online media and marketing materials

Responsible to: Development Manager

Salary: £14,500

Based: Upper Boat Business Centre, Treforest.

Hours: Full time – 35 hours per week

Key objectives

To provide IT support to the Youth Cymru team

Support the marketing and communication for projects and events

Keep the Youth Cymru website updated and maintained

Design materials to promote projects and events

Key Tasks – General

* Office tasks: answering the phone, taking messages, welcoming visitors, responding to emails.

* Contributing to weekly e-bulletins

* Supporting all projects run within Youth Cymru

* distribution of project materials, liaising with project partners and with Youth Cymru members

* Attending meetings with external organisations

Web design and support

* Communicating Projects to key decision makers and influencers in the National Assembly for Wales and Welsh Government

* Support and develop Youth Cymru’s Website and marketing all projects

* Designing graphics, animations and manipulating digital photographs

* coding using a variety of software

* Meeting relevant legal requirements such as accessibility standards, freedom of information and privacy

* Designing the website’s visual imagery and ensuring it’s in line with company branding policy

* Proof-reading content and making changes where necessary

* Editing content, debugging code and re-designing web pages

* Researching current design trends

* Promote the website through social media platforms


Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and developing interactive design

* Using innovation to redefine a design brief within time and cost constraints

* working with a range of media

* Keeping up to date with emerging technologies

* Proof-reading to produce accurate and high-quality work

* Demonstrating illustrative skills for the design of toolkits, reports and other materials produced by Youth Cymru

* Working as part of a team supporting the design, promotion and marketing needs of Youth Cymru projects and event

Other details

May be required to work some evenings and weekends

Welsh speaking preferably but not essential

6 Month Contract with a view to extend depending on funding
